This week I'm once again participating in Book Traveling Thursday!
"Book Traveling Thursdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Catia from The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle's Book Blog. The idea of this group is check out the list of weekly themes for each month in this meme's Goodreads page and simply pick a book to match the theme! Once you've found a book, explore different covers of various editions for that book and make a post about it.  To find out more, you can check out our Goodreads group!

This week's theme is your favorite book of the year so far. For this one, I chose:
The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
Picking one book as my favorite of the year so far is incredibly difficult, but fortunately what saved me was the fact that most of the books I loved only had one or two different covers, so I simply chose my favorite that had the most international covers - The Eye of the World! I fell in love with this book so hard and I cannot wait to continue on in the series.

Original Cover Design:
The Eye of the World (Wheel of Time, #1)
Other editions:

The Eye of the World (Wheel of Time, #1)The Eye of the World (Wheel of Time, #1)Die Suche nach dem Auge der Welt (Das Rad der Zeit, #1 - Das Original)
L'occhio del mondo (La Ruota del Tempo, #1)L'occhio del mondo (La Ruota del Tempo, #1)El ojo del mundo (La rueda del tiempo, #1)
Zenica sveta (Točak vremena, #1)Oко мира (The Wheel of Time, #1)L'Œil du Monde (La Roue du Temps, #1)
Top Row: Trade Paperback. Mass Market, German
Middle Row: Italian, Italian #2, Spanish
Bottom Row: Serbian, Russian, French

Honestly, there are so many international covers for these books, but I just went with a few random ones because I definitely couldn't add them all. I love how different and imaginative they all are, but I'm definitely partial to the original cover for its classic fantasy vibe.

What do you think of these covers? Do you have a favorite? What is your favorite book of 2017 so far? Let me know!

The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan (The Wheel of Time #1)

Chapter 1

"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.

Born below the ever cloud-capped peaks that gave the mountains their name, the wind blew east, out across the Sand Hills, once the shore of a great ocean, before the Breaking of the World. Down it flailed into the Two Rivers, into the tangled forest called the Westwood, and beat at two men walking with a cart and horse down the rock-strewn track called the Quarry Road. For all that spring should have come a good month since, the wind carried an icy chill as if it would rather bear snow."

So, The Eye of the World is hardly a new book, but I've had it on my TBR for years now, and I am finally going to dive in. I have heard countless incredible things about the The Wheel of Time series, and so far I am really enjoying this book!

What do you think? Would you keep reading either one of these? (And feel free to join in and make your own post!)
If you're enticed by this chapter, be sure to check out the full synopsis on Goodreads!
